The Perfect Guacamole

We put together the most delicious perfect and healthy Guacamole and Spicy Margarita mocktail so you can plan ahead for Cinco De Mayo.

Guacamole is one of our favorite dips and has so many health benefits. It is simply a combination of healthy plant foods all smashed into a healthy snack and is lower in calories than most dips. It requires no preservatives or additives and has heart-healthy monounsaturated fats as well as gut-friendly fiber and it is so easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 2 large Haas avocados
  • 2 Tbs. diced red onion
  • 2 jalapeño chiles, seeded and chopped
  • 2 Tbs. minced fresh cilantro, plus cilantro leaves for garnish
  • 2 Tbs. fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
  • coarse sea salt

Directions

In a bowl or molcajete put the onion, jalapeños, lime juice, garlic and 1/2 tsp. salt and smash with a pestle or fork to a coarse paste. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits and scoop the flesh into the mix. Now add the minced cilantro and mix and mash some more. Taste and adjust the seasoning with sea salt and extra lime to taste. Top with cilantro leaves and serve. Grapefruit Skinny Spicy Margarita Mocktail is our healthy version made with fresh grapefruit juice, tart lime juice, sparkling water, and sweetened with agave syrup. We like to add a scoop of our Fat Burning Lemonade mix to increase the slimming benefit. Shaken up this refreshing mocktail is sure to be a new favorite and for us it hits the spot every single time.  It is also the perfect drink to sip on when it's hot outside.

Ingredients

  • Coarse salt for the glass rim
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
  • 1/4 freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 tbsp agave nectar
  • 1 scoop of Fat Burning Lemonade®
  • 5 oz Sparkling water
  • Pinch of chipotle chile powder
  • Ice

 Directions

Spread the salt on a plate. Moisten the rim of a glass with the lime wedge, dip the edge of the rim into the salt and shake off any excess.

Add the grapefruit juice, lime juice, agave nectar, chile powder and Fat Burning Lemonade into the prepared glass and stir until well combined. Fill the glass with ice and top up the glass with sparkling water, stir to combine, and serve with a slice of lime and fresh grapefruit. Makes 1 drink.
